How will I know if my pet has arthritis?

The wear and tear of the cartilage leads to bones rubbing together causing visible signs of discomfort. If your pet is showing any of the signs below, they may have arthritis and need immediate attention.

• Difficulty going up or down stairs
• Reluctance to jump
• Limping
• Stiffness in the legs, especially after resting or sleeping
• Irritability from being touched
• Disinterest in activities
• Less time spent on their grooming
• Hiding or sleeping more than normal

How can arthritis be cured?

Unfortunately, arthritis cannot be cured but it can be alleviated. There are different methods we can use at our clinic to help your pet feel better and reduce pain. Physical rehab/massage is one of those ways. By gently applying pressure into the affected areas, we can get blood circulating and relieve pressure. Laser therapy is also an effective treatment. We emit controlled light energy over the region your pet is experiencing arthritis. This activates cell movement into reducing pain and swelling.
